LPQC Meets in Woodside to Discuss the 2024 LP Presidential Race

Join Queens Libertarians (in its speaker event for LPQC) to hear Chair John Clifton lead a group talk on September 9 in a special meeting on the question “Who Will the LP Nominate for President in 2024?” We will test out our new Woodside location at Donovan’s Pub on Roosevelt Ave at noon, in the family room area (this will be a run down of the announced contenders, with an exchange of ideas by attendees on the current path, or state of the LP in the US). This discussion will follow the monthly business session, covering Queens LP housekeeping and subcommittee updates.

Clifton et al will overview the officially declared candidates Chase Oliver, Lars Mapstead, and Mike ter Maat, then cover the potential or local candidacies of favorite sons like NY’s Dave Smith and Larry Sharpe. The issue of obtaining ballot status for LPNY in spring 2024 will also be discussed. If you yourself are running, come by and tell us about your plans!    Details and Directions

UPDATE: During the meeting, Mike ter Maat responded to an issue raised by Queens Libertarians, through an online contact made by his campaign staff (Catrina Rocco, chair of Duchess County LP). To the question, “Would candidate ter Maat abolish the FBI once he became President?,” Mike swiftly texted back, “END it!” QL appreciates the contender’s engagement with us and fellow Libertarians.
